Shaun Dobson is ready to commence the 2016-17 season this Saturday night at Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway in NSW, where they will contest the opening Ultimate Sprintcar Championship NSW round.
The Dobson Motorsport team driver from Hobart in Tasmania is raring to get the new season underway and with the team having picked up new crew member Shane Finch, who has worked with some of the leading Sprintcars teams in the world, they are confident that they will be able to achieve some positive results.
“Having a guy of Shane’s calibre in our corner is a fantastic addition to our team and we’re thrilled to have him on board,” commented Dobson, who plans to predominantly compete at Valvoline Raceway this season.
“It’s always tough competition in Sydney, but we’re hoping to build on our consistency to regularly qualify for the feature races and work our way towards solid results.”
Dobson will hit the track this Saturday night, sporting a new black, red and white colour scheme for his ACT # 21 Essendon Ford-backed Cool machine, which he’s hoping will give him the edge he needs to take it to his competition and get his 2016-17 season off to a strong start.
Following this Saturday night’s meeting, which will double as the Brian Healey Cup, Dobson Motorsport will contest two more races at Valvoline Raceway in October, returning to the track on the Saturday night of October 15 for round two of the USC NSW and the Sid Hopping Shootout, with their final race for the month on the Saturday night of October 22 for the third USC NSW round.
Dobson Motorsport would like to thank the following team 2016-17 season sponsors: Essendon Ford, Quantum Quartz, Husqvarna Motorcycles, Road & River Motorcycles, Albert Road Store - Hobart, Castrol Oil, and Cool Chassis.
