A third-place finish in the recent third round of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway was just the confidence boost Shaun Dobson needed.

After recently returning from a neck injury sustained during his maiden American racing trip back in late July, Dobson ended his third race meeting of the 2015-16 season with a solid podium result – his first in over 12 months.

“Yeah, it was great to bring home a podium result and have a strong overall night,” expressed the ACT # 21 Essendon Ford / Quantum Quartz Designer Stone supported Cool driver.

“In our first race meeting of the season at Avalon we crashed out, in our second meeting at Sydney we managed to qualify into the feature race and finish, and last weekend we made another step forward by finishing on the podium.”

Dobson’s night saw him qualify second in his heat group time trial, and then went on to win his opening heat race and then run sixth in his second heat race. Those results qualified Dobson out of position four for the feature race.

“Premier Speedway is a pretty tough track, so it’s always good to start towards the front of the feature races,” commented the 22-year-old from Hobart in Tasmania.

“When you qualify towards the front of any feature race these days, it’s half the battle, and from there it’s all up to you to keep the car at the front, which was what I was able to do on the weekend.”

Dobson would like to thank the following 2015-16 season sponsors for all of their support:
Essendon Ford
Quantum Quartz Designer Stone
Road & River Motorcycles
Castrol Oil
Husqvarna Motorcycles
